A warm and heartfelt welcome! If you have found your way here, you are likely curious about how I can support you on your journey—and I am honored to be a part of that process. Life can often become riddled with difficulties, leaving us feeling lost, out of control or in chaos. In therapy, I strive to create a safe space that fosters hope, inner healing and a sense of meaning and empowerment as we navigate painful and stressful experiences, rooted in your past, present or future.
For years, I have felt drawn to mental health and the vastness of the human mind. As a South Asian Canadian, I noticed the stigma against mental health in the BIPOC community, and the shocking underrepresentation of the BIPOC community in research for mental health. I felt a deep calling to face the stigma and become a voice in the field, which led me to pursue an Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences with a minor in Psychology, followed by a Master of Arts in Counselling & Spirituality, specializing in Couples and Family Counselling. In my current role as a Registered Psychotherapist, I aim to bridge the gaps by incorporating an Eastern lens into the predominantly Western lens of psychotherapy.
I work with individuals and couples, tailoring my therapeutic approach to your specific needs and goals for therapy. In sessions, you can expect an integrative approach, drawing from several therapeutic modalities such as psychodynamic therapy, existential therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), emotion-focused therapy (EFT), and Imago therapy, among others. This means I will work with you to explore your thoughts, emotions, and behavior patterns, while also addressing deeper relational and emotional dynamics. Whether you are seeking individual support or working as a couple, I create a compassionate and non-judgmental space where we can explore your experiences, gain insight, and move toward healing and personal growth. My goal is to help you feel empowered and supported as you navigate life’s challenges. I believe in leading with a culturally-sensitive lens to accommodate for the increasingly multicultural community seeking support for mental health. I can offer sessions in English, Hindi and Urdu.
Outside of being a therapist, I am deeply passionate about fostering well-being in all aspects of life. Nature, spirituality, and connecting with loved ones are key sources of inspiration for me. I enjoy long walks, meditative practices, and immersing myself in dance, theatre, and the arts. To recharge, I often turn to Indian chai, watching anime, gaming, and pursuing creative outlets that allow me to reflect and grow.
